How Botox cosmetic works

Botox is something called a neuro-muscular wrinkle blocker. The composition of Botox includes a miniscule amount of the botulinum toxin. When injected, the product inhibits the release of acetylcholine, a process that effectively blocks the contraction of facial muscles in localized areas. As those small facial muscles relax in the days following your treatment, lines and wrinkles gradually flatten out and become unnoticeable. Injections are relatively comfortable; if necessary, a numbing cream can be used, but most treatments do not require it.
