The Treatment Process

When Ultherapy is administered, you should expect little to no discomfort, but pain medications may be an option if you raise the concern with Dr. Cozzone. The treatment itself uses micro-focused ultrasound waves that create a non-invasive lift of the treated area on the face. Depending on the area treated, your procedure can be completed in ten minutes to one hour.

While similar laser procedures exist for firming the face, Ultherapy is different in that it does not treat aging on the surface of the face, but rather at the deeper, muscular layer. Additionally, 80 to 90% of patients only require a single treatment to achieve the desired result.

Life Post-Ultherapy

As mentioned, you should anticipate no downtime following Ultherapy treatment and can resume all normal activities immediately. While results will last 12-18 months, how soon the treatment begins to take effect can vary. You may experience immediate results and see those improvements increase over the following three months.

Following treatment, you may experience some light redness that should dissipate within an hour. You might experience some swelling, but no bruising following your Ultherapy treatment.
